A little about me

I’m Vicki, a qualified Personal Trainer with over eight years of experience helping women move, build strength and feel more at home in their bodies.

Over the years, I’ve come to see that exercise is about so much more than sets, repetitions or reaching a particular goal. It’s about how we feel in our bodies, the freedom to do the things that matter to us, and the confidence that comes from discovering what we’re capable of.

I also know that the usual approach to fitness doesn’t suit everyone.

Not every woman wants to be pushed harder, measured against someone else or told that her body needs fixing. Sometimes, what we need is a different approach - one that respects where we are now and gives us room to find our own way forward.

That’s why I created Your Own Kind of Strong.

My approach

I believe strength and health should add to your life, not become another source of stress.

Movement doesn’t have to be punishing to be worthwhile. Progress doesn’t have to be dramatic to matter. And looking a certain way should never be the price of feeling good in your body.

My approach is gentle, considered and individual. We work with your body, your circumstances and your goals, finding ways to build strength and support your wellbeing that feel manageable and sustainable.

There’s no one-size-fits-all formula here. No pressure to keep up, no shame about where you’re starting, and no expectation that you need to become someone else.

Just thoughtful coaching, supportive movement and the freedom to discover your own kind of strong.

My background

My background includes personal training, yoga and Pilates, alongside further training in wellness coaching and women’s health.

I began my career in gym environments, but I was drawn towards quieter, more personal ways of working. I wanted to create spaces where women could feel comfortable moving, ask questions without judgement and receive support that recognised them as people, not just bodies to be trained.

Over time, my work has become increasingly centred on the relationship between movement, wellbeing and the way we care for ourselves.

I’m interested in what helps women feel stronger, more capable and more confident in everyday life - without adding more demands to already busy lives.

Because caring for your health should feel like an act of respect for yourself, not a punishment for who you are.

Who I work with

I work with women, particularly in midlife and beyond, who want to feel stronger and healthier but are looking for an alternative to the usual fitness culture.

Perhaps you’ve felt uncomfortable in gyms. Perhaps you’re tired of being told to try harder, lose more weight or follow yet another plan. Or perhaps your body, your priorities or your circumstances have changed, and you’re ready for an approach that meets you where you are today.

You don’t need to be fit before you begin.

You don’t need to love exercise or have a perfectly defined goal.

And you certainly don’t need to change your appearance to deserve care and support.

You’re welcome here as you are - with your own history, needs, hopes and definition of what it means to feel strong.

Find your own kind of strong

Your health matters. Your comfort matters. And so does the way you feel along the way.

If you’re looking for a calmer, more respectful approach to movement and wellbeing, I’d love to hear from you.

We can start with a conversation about where you are now and what you’d like to work towards.

You don’t have to do it the hard way to make meaningful change.
